Cummins was founded in 1919 by Clessie Cummins and W.G. Irwin, and our corporate headquarters are still located at the original factory site in Columbus, Indiana. Today, as a global company, we employ thousands of the industry's top talent who design, manufacture, distribute and service engines, generators and related technologies around the world.
Since the day we started in Columbus, Indiana, we've set the standard for innovation and dependability. And that continues today throughout all of our businesses and initiatives. Our engines and generators are powering trains, trucks, boats, hospitals and villages in every corner of the world. Every day, our highly trained workforce is building even more innovations into our products and finding new applications for our technologies. This could include better performance, more fuel economy or even more reliability.
Our products are divided into four key business units, starting with our flagship Engine Business, where we manufacture and market diesel and natural gas powered engines from 31 to 3,500 horsepower for highway and off-highway use.
Our Power Generation Business provides power generation systems, components and services to customers around the world. Our Component Business includes Cummins Filtration, Cummins Turbo Technologies, Cummins Emission Solutions and Cummins Fuel Systems. These businesses are the fastest growing because they're an integral part of the technology used to lower emissions and improve engine performance.
Lastly, our Distribution Business drives a comprehensive global distribution strategy and channel management system. Capitalizing on synergies in parts and services, this business helps Cummins by providing outstanding support to our customers, while growing a less cyclical and less capital-intensive business. Through this network, trained personnel sell and distribute Cummins-branded products, related services and broader solutions such as maintenance contracts, engineering services and customized integrated products.
